Harley Update!

Hi Again, it's me, Harley...

Sorry it's been so long since I've updated, things have been CRAZY BUSY!! Before I get started, here's a pic of me after my first night at Foster Ma's place. I had SO MUCH FUN running and playing, I was EXHAUSTED!!! Shhhhh, puppy sleeping! ;o)

Anyway...last Friday Foster Ma and I had such a day! We went to see the good Doc and he had quite a bit to say about me! Well first, we met all others in the place and I had such a ball meeting everyone, getting lots of loves, and sniffing everything! I just looooooove meeting new people and friends!!

So first, they checked for bugs on me and I HAVE NONE! WOO HOO! Bad news is I have a skin infection around the back end, yeast infection on my face, an eye infection, and an ear infection. Holy smokes, where did I pick up all that stuff? Maybe that's why I ended up in the shelter? :( Oh well, I've got lots of medicine, a foster ma to take care of me, and great people paying for it all. *sigh* How did I get so lucky?

Even better, the doc said that I DON'T HAVE TO HAVE MY TAIL REMOVED!!! I whispered in his ear that it's already been messed with and cut up before. He said he could tell, it's just a tight fold in the skin that needs to be lifted up and cleaned with a baby wipe every day. Just to get rid of dead skin cells and dirt, how easy is that??? We've already been doing it here and it works just fine! :)

Other than the big trip to the Doc's office (I LOVED the car ride, by the way!!), I still haven't figured out what this little fur ball at Ma's house is. Anytime I get near it, she poofs up all her hair, hisses, then swats me and runs away...BEFORE I EVEN SAY OR DO ANYTHING! Talk about RUDE!!! This may be one critter I don't really need to be friends with. Everyone else loves me, she can just be a crabby pants.

ANYWHOOOOOOO...Kahluah is calling from the back yard to play so I gotta jam. OH, before I go, if you'd like to make a donation to help with the HUGE bag of pills we had to take home, the Aunties sure would appreciate it! Please click on the DONATE link on the left, we'd all greatly appreciate anything you can spare!

Later Taters!

Hello from Brodie

I am adjusting to my Foster Home and the frenchie girls here have rightfully put me in my place so I am being much better behaved now. I learned the doggy door lickedy-split on day 2 and now fly out with the rest of the crew takin' up the rear as the caboose when a stranger nears house! My foster mom calls me wiggle butt, cause it just won't stop! I also learn the 4 legged fascination with the window seat. I finally realized it was safe to get up there and found it to be like heaven in the living room. I can see everything outside from that window's view, but I have to get up there early cause it is the hot-spot around here! I also enjoy taking part in the daily couch-denting.

I am slowly gaining weight, although you can still see my spine pretty well.. it is getting better. If only there was a pill for instant plumping my foster mom wishes. I have found love with one of the girls here, I can see from Yogi that she is quite popular with the boys that come here. I think I like most that she doesn't let me get away with anything. She won't let me play with her toy but I like her anyway. She is quite feisty.

I also think I forgot to mention that I am a super snuggler! Seriously folks, I love to love on you, and lean into your neck for hugs. Believe it or not, I may actually be capable of snuggling to death, but my foster mom said she loves it.

I have been thinking I need some fanmail, so be sure to drop me a line some time soon!

I still need to have surgery for my cherry eye and my neuter too so any help is greatly appreciated.

Woof Woof for now,
Brodie

Hunter/Harley

Howdy Everyone, it's Harley here, yes HARLEY, not Hunter like Aunt Tina was calling me. I tried to tell her that wasn't my name but she just didn't "get me" but my Foster Ma Lisa does! She TOTALLY gets me and I couldn't be happier here at her place. Aunt Tina brought me over on Saturday and I met my boxer foster sis, Kahlua, met the whole family, even some extra peeps came to meet me, WOW do I feel SPECIAL!!! This is the best place ever, there's a big fenced yard, a HUGE pile of toys, big bags of good food, TONS of cuddling & loves, and a bunch of comfy places to rest my tired head at the end of the day. What more could you ask for?

I heard we have an appointment on Friday to see the good doc about the ick on my back end and my eye yuck. I can't wait to get all fixed up! Since I was at the shelter the folks have been talking about a "tail amp" (whatever that is...but it doesn't sound like fun *gulp*) although Foster Ma seems to think that's a bunch of bull-pucky. I hope so, whatever it is, it just doesn't sound like something I want to put on my calendar. I have too many trees to mark, toys to play with, and Kahlua to bug to be out of commission for some dumb procedure. HHMMPPFFF.

Speaking of, I hear the trees calling me now...I'll update with a picture very soon, I'm just too busy today.

*smooches and wiggles*

YOGI Adopted

Yogi has found his new parents! Andy and Lorraine lost their beloved 8 year old Bulldog Harry recently and felt that helping another Bulldog find a home would help their hearts. Yogi stayed over with them to see how everyone felt about the match. When Yogi's foster mom met up with the trio the next day Yogi had little interest in her and it was obvious he had already bonded with his new people; exactly what a foster home hopes for. We are so excited for all three family members and hope Yogi will fill Andy and Lorraine's lives with Bullie love again and help make each day a new adventure.

Good luck Yogi. Remember to be nice to the neighbor kitty and watch over Harry's parents for him.
